Ditto. It is so sad we never learned it in school. Another thing we never learned in school were about the ways that whites forced Native Americans into schools to effectively erase their culture. This part was also never taught in school. I had to learn it in a museum....

Yup. I’ve seen those schools in Michigan and they were awful and often abusive. Just told a well educated adult friend about them the other day who didn’t know about it. Re-education camps, basically.
