Usually this kind of security doesn't go away. Take for example those same barricades outside of the Casa Rosada, the presidential palace in Argentina. I will defer to Argentine friends, but I believe they have been up for at least a decade, if not more.

Fascists love them some fences. The White House will be giving big donors tours of the ramparts while protestors are shot with tear gas.
