I don’t get the “cancel rent” movement. The people pushing it seem like the ones who are able to pay. Why should I not pay rent if I’m able? My mgmt company has shown every indication they will work with you if you cannot. Shows a real lack of grasp about trickle down effects.
I think it’s putting people who legit can’t pay in a worse position If those who can pay aren’t and defeating the entire purpose. The dude organizing this has a steady government job. He lives in a building he doesn’t own. He owes rent.

Refusing to pay rent so our building has to furlough staff or can’t meet mortgage ain’t gonna fix capitalism or housing policy. Simplistic to think so.
