I think it’s about solidarity with those who can not pay rent and do not have accommodating landlords.

I have been thinking about this, wouldn’t it create a housing crisis as well if landlords struggle to pay their mortgages?

I didn’t mean trickle down in the Reganomics sense and trick up might be a better descriptor but if rent isn’t paid, building has less $ for salaries and maintenance and mortgage etc etc.

I agree. Same goes for mortgages. If I can pay, I will pay. Someone needs to keep the economy moving.
