It probably did not swim up your toilet. I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by woods, and found a squirrel in my toilet one night. It got in somewhere else and jumped in probably when one of the dogs scared it. I found it, shivering and unable to get out. Felt bad for it
definitely did. keep lids closed. so unless it opened the lid, fell in, then closed it, swam up.
