This is how they prep his base for 100,000 Americans dead. Two months ago, it was “just the flu” and a “Democrat hoax”. Now it’s “only 100,000 dead thanks to our great orange leader”.

@nldeckard - this is coming from Trumps (MD) COVID-19 spokesperson on his task force. Also said because of the lockdowns most states have implemented the number of deaths should now only be 100-200k. Let’s hope.

So there have been 42,016 deaths worldwide but the US will have at least 100,000 on their own? Not buying it. 🤷‍♂️

Talking about 1.5M-2M deaths is to cover one’s ass and make the potentially large 150K-200K deaths seem controlled and managed. Even 50-100 deaths per M (15K-30K for the nation) is way off the charts. Italy with 60M has 12K deaths, very high. 60K deaths is high for us.

The 100-200,000 range in the University of Washington IHME model assumes that all states implement and stick to a strong shutdown this week. Considering that more than half of states have not taken any shutdown measures, including hotspots such as Florida, this seems optimistic.

What if we do what we are doing now - kinda stay apart and don’t look at anyone when we go to the grocery store? I think the problem is we have spent 3 weeks “social distancing” and those 3 weeks have been wasted on part measures and the reality is we have to start again now

Yet none of the experts seemed interested in discussing how their late and confused policy measures have made the situation much, much worse. How is 100,000 - 250,000 deaths a success when Korea learned of its first case on the same day as the US?
