When I'm at the store or on a walk, it's interesting how people approach each other now, warily and side eyed, like gunfighters clocking a threat. Are you going to move away or will I? Not much smiling or well-wishing.

The fact that we are isolated in our homes and regard each other as potentially sources of infection makes it that much harder to feel a sense of community, but certainly so many are sacrificing to help others right now. A great struggle is raging unseen by many of us.

I really haven't seen this in DC -- lots of people greet each other in the street -- even if through masks.
