After months of awful headaches, Gerardo was shocked to learn he had a tapeworm in his brain. Dr. Jordan Amadio, neurosurgeon at Ascension Seton, calls his case "rare and extraordinary." After complex brain surgery, the patient no longer has headaches.

To change the world with your thinking is a rare thing. Perhaps rarer still though, is to change peoples’ lives with humility and generosity of spirit. Somehow, Professor Christensen managed to do both. He will be deeply missed.

  16. A headache can be nothing to worry about, or it can be a brain parasite. 🐛🧠 This man had a tapeworm larva in his 4th ventricle causing life-threatening brainstem compression. After I removed it, he made a full recovery & went back to work.

My first job: janitor at a veterinary clinic/kennel. Developed a fascination with the OR while cleaning up the messes. Today I am a neurosurgeon. At work , I get to help inspire new generations of med students and residents. Love this advice.❣️
