So a lot of people are concerned with the verification change announced by @TeamYouTube and a lot of these concerns are legitimate in my opinion. But for those who say it's just a way for celebrities of mainstream media "to make a quick buck," I feel you're wrong. 1/3
So overall, they want to bring this opportunity to make themselves more relevant. I can't blame them since tv ratings dropped for many of them since YouTube became a big thing in human society.
Now that's not to say @TeamYouTube doesn't has a lot to fix, but be fair. (;

Quick note: I forgot to add that many small creators use YouTube to advertise their businesses as well. YouTube is a platform that pays you at a certain point in time, so it's only fair to call out anyone making money on YouTube if you're argument is "big guys making a buck." (;
