    At , we learned many think you have to have an R01 to be an Early Career Reviewer. Not true! The program is 𝙛𝙤𝙧 people still aiming for that first R01. In fact, if you have an R01, you can't serve as an ECR (but you might be recruited to serve as a regular reviewer).
