I understand the spirit of this comment, but claiming you are part of a marginalized group that you aren't a part of is harmful in so many ways.

I get what you're trying to go for here, but no. Claiming experiences that you haven't lived is not a good look, and it makes it that much harder for those of us that have lived those experiences to be taken seriously.

I don't hear her claiming experiences. Remember after 9-11 and We Are All New Yorkers? Why not let her try saying something good here? Would you take the side of Kirk Brown? Or is it a hip trend in this thread you can't resist? Bashing here - is your goal stifling her speech?
