Strong public support & powerful, emotional testimony on behalf of , the Act, by Senator . The bill passed the Criminal Justice Committee unanimously. It’s arguably the most important reform under consideration this year.

What I said was: “When it passed, PRR had been as thoroughly vetted as a drunken text to one’s ex after a night out, and in hindsight it has proven roughly as wise.“ I think I was being too polite, actually.

Think about it.... Cracking down on cellphones and visitation does not end the atrocities happening in Mississippi prisons Cracking down on cellphones and visitation only stops us all from hearing about or seeing what is going on in Mississippi prisons

If you liked that ad on criminal justice reform, and you’re a member of the Florida House of Representatives, consider cosponsoring , which is roughly the Florida equivalent of the .

A former prosecutor realizing on camera that being a former prosecutor doesn’t guarantee electability anymore. And the whole “a prosecutor’s job is to do justice” slogan is so worn and untrue. Prosecutors are fallible human beings, with the same failings as everyone else.

Support for the , while overwhelming, was not universal. For example, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd wrote several hysterical letters begging President Trump to oppose it. Instead, Trump supported the bill, signed the bill, and then ran a Super Bowl ad about the bill.

I better not hear any Democrats complain either. A sitting president - regardless of party- campaigning on will help us bring many more people home.

I encourage my elected officials to not only a FAMM "visit a prison" challenge but to also "visit a loved one " visit my son William, decide afterwards if his natural life sentence is fair or proportional ,I believe you will ,like me ,want to take him home with you .

The principle underlying nearly the entirety of the case against sentencing reform is the assumption that if *a* prison sentence is justified, then *any* prison sentence is, ipso facto, justified, as well. This is deeply and obviously stupid, of course, but that's their theory.

Wanting a criminal justice system that is fair for everyone is not soft on crime. Wanting sentences that are proportional to the crimes is not leniency. Wanting constitutional conditions and true rehabilitation in prisons is not ignoring victims.
