Half of why I use YouTube is the social media aspect of it. If you phase out comments in favor of a passive viewing experience where you can't interact with the creators directly, I just wanted to let you know we already have something like that. It's called television.

I predicted before that YouTube would phase out subscribers, comments, and eventually entirely get rid of users who aren't already part of a big media corporation, sad to see it actually happening. Pretty soon the only accounts will be paid accounts that can't comment.

But what do I know? I'm not a suit in a boardroom that can hand out corporate buzzwords like a mall Santa hands out candy canes. I'm just some guy who makes science videos and music videos.

"There are no related technical issues/" Does this mean that comments not appearing sometimes isn't a glitch? Are you beta-testing a comment-less YouTube on some randomly selected users?
