I'm okay with this but only if it's genuinely acceptable to just ignore all of their emails if you're not interested. Otherwise it feels like someone trying to get something out of you via social pressure (making it awkward for you to keep turning them down).

There have been instances where someone emailed me multiple times after I turned down their first request, and I almost caved in just because I felt awkward -- but then I . was like "Wait, no, that's absolutely the wrong incentive system to reinforce" and stopped myself
