Best movie trailers ever? A few of my faves: Interstellar teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WzHXI5HizQ … Cloud Atlas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWnAqFyaQ5s … Man of Steel teaser:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wArmHSPIvlQ …

Wow, that's terrific. I saw that trailer in cinemas, but hadn't realized until you pointed it out how good it is.
-
Yeah there’s everything. And the movie lives up to it too! From time to time I’ll watch again these 10min about Dr Manhattan
-
Another interesting thing about the movie is that it’s extremely faithful to the comic. The dialogues are often the same down to the words, and there are several frames that you can downright superpose onto the movie. And yet Alan Moore didn’t like it iirc
-
He didn't like V for Vendetta, either, and that was a clear improvement over the comic
-
Disagree. In the comic, V is just a person (could’ve been anyone), but in the movie V is a superhero (distant). The movie is anti-fascist and couldn’t help taking digs at George Bush. The comic was pro-anarchist and more timeless. Moore was right, they mangled it.
-
It's been a while since I've engaged either, but IIRC: I felt the comic took many more digs at Thatcher, and was thus much less timeless. I found the digs at both Bush and Thatcher irritating; parochial local politics doesn't work in fiction, unless done superbly.
-
Your point about superhero vs. anyone is interesting. Next time I rewatch / reread I'll think about that.
-
Also look a the comic as a cogent defense of anarchy. An attitude that was missing in the movie. Making V larger than life destroys the anarchy argument because it says some are leaders and some are not. Whereas in the book, it’s clear that everyone can be a V.
