Saw someone suggest that the answer to the incel problem is “redistribution of sex” and holy wow, is that dumb. For starters, it suggests sex is a commodity. But also, incels don’t just want the act of sex, they want it with a woman they deem worthy of their virility.

Average Annie might really be into an incel guy, but she’s not good enough for him. He only wants Hot Helen. Incel-dom isn’t about getting laid, per se, it’s about getting the kind of laid that proves your worth as a man.

Speaking as a man who only "got laid" for the first time in his early 30s, I'm really worried to see things that I recognize as common male frustrations become toxic ideologies.

"Incel" started as a common female frustration and spent many years as a common frustration for many, so I don't think the frustration _per se_ really is a factor as much as the simple constant that every generation has damaged, violent people of whom the wide majority are men.->

Like I've seen the numerous posts that are trying to retcon the origin and the sentiment of "incel" and that just strikes me as attacking the problem the wrong way IMO.
