    The first published review of Ulysses appeared on March 5 1922 in The Observer, a Sunday paper with 200,000 subscribers. Sisley Huddleston proclaimed Joyce “a man of genius.” This led to a surge in orders and Sylvia Beach soon sold all the copies priced at 150 francs.
