Hey @AllieTweets415. Hope your day is going well. You got one thing right -- I was a prosecutor who has argued to a judge to hold someone in custody at arraignment. So, while the judge listens to arguments and makes a ruling, it is the DA who makes the argument for the people.
As a former Assistant DA who appears to be angling to run again should the recall qualify… it’s either Trumpian for her to circulate self-serving misinformation, or it’s disqualifying that she doesn’t understand that judges-and NOT @chesaboudin-make pretrial custody decisions.https://twitter.com/suzyloftus/status/1405357446428717056 …

@chesaboudin DID argue to detain, and that ruling / decision to release the defendant, was ultimately made by the judge… not the DA. - Show replies
