Spotify's latest iteration of the Dancehall Official playlist is an...interesting interpretation of the genre. Out of 50 songs around a dozen are by Jamaican artists. Pharrell, ZAYN, Rae Sremmurd, Drake all on there. We need to step up our game A LOT

Its a very conscious direction change with this refresh. I'm gonna try ask him what is the thinking behind it but the curators move like ghosts for the most part so not sure he will share his thoughts. But a specialist playlist now swamped with records just heavily influenced?

Looking right now, looks about the same split as a few months ago, 60/40 Jamaican artists (half of which are old/classics), I see Drake, Montana, etc. but don’t see Zayn, Pharrell.

Wow u right I just checked and its been refreshed 2 hours ago and some of those aforementioned records are now gone. Must confess I reached out to the curator and voiced my concerns, dont know if it made a difference but it was way off piste.

I use Deezer, it’s real nice man. Good selection on playlists, and the catalog of tunes and artistes is pretty massive!
