    This is what happens when you freeze Fuel Duty for years and don't take a reduction of transport demand seriously. All the progress on electric cars is being undone by a huge rise in sales of fuel-inefficient and dangerous SUVs in the UK.

    Over 10 years ago this chap came to Newcastle as I was struggling to finish my PhD. With his help and guidance, and that of other colleagues in , I finally graduated today. Thanks a million ! Great to have presiding at the ceremony too.
