I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

Would be a nice alternative to the standard "Hey, why not walk down into this park with no lights and where the end turns out to be locked?" mode
Oh, man! We took a wrong turn in Dijon heading back to the campsite, and ended up in the hospital grounds. By the time we realised, the gate was locked behind us and so were all the others. Truly scary.
