Update on the #BirdsofPrey title change: It's apparently for display/search purposes only for vendors and theaters, not an official title change. Just to clarify for those of you writing about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So how is this different from an official title change? Are theater chains like AMC not supposed to list the movie under the revamped title in public? And have there been other instances of a change like this?

1. The title will be the original everywhere else and on record 2. Theaters now can display the new title if it helps with search (or the studio directly requests it) 3. Not this exact scenario for a tentpole (that I can think of but I could absolutely be wrong)

Thanks! On the AMC app, it's been changed to the "Harley" title in all the text parts that I can see (the ones that are easiest to change, I presume), but not the posters. Not that it's a big deal either way, but interesting in a "this is new" kinda way!

Right! It's for display/search purposes for ticketing sites and theaters but the title will remain the same everywhere else.

Didn't Edge of Tomorrow do something similar with the "Live Die Repeat" change, it was that only later for home video/streaming?
