I am noticing this as well and it’s precisely why we need #CRT and an #intersectional lender when looking at the impacts of right wing advocacy in our public education system.

While it's personally dispiriting to see your work targeted in bad faith, what's more distressing to me is that the lives of women of color I've written about are being diminished and erased in a political moment in which we need their stories most.

Going on in Virginia. Another case of right-wing actors using smear campaigns to target dedicated parent volunteers in order to derail progress in our education system. This is the same Harry Jackson, who spoke with Ed Blum to dismantle affirmative action at #SCOTUS rallies.

🚨Please report slanderous tweets from GOP School Board candidate #HarryJ4Justice.🚨 Harry Jackson has made unfounded pedophile claims against many, but his abhorrent lies about @JorgeATorrico cannot go unchallenged. Please report as abusive & include these recent tweets.

Because talking about the history of slavery in America is apparently anti-white. Kids should watch Black characters unless those characters talk about the experience of being Black. During Black History Month. Amazing clip, by the way.

Conservative activists both locally and nationally have criticized and targeted San Francisco for our progressive values. They have mobilized tech investors and weaponized instability and fear to stoke conflict between communities of color #sanfrancisco

This is similar to Friends of Lowell Foundation’s partnership with conservative lawyers like, Harmeet Dhillon, a Trump lawyer who sued SFUSD keep Lowell HS segregated and dismantle an equity audit requested by Black Lowell students and the SF NAACP.

So, let me see here, the same attorney that sued @SFUnified to keep Lowell segregated, is now Trump’s attorney for the Jan 6th committee. But sure, it’s not a Republican recall. It’s THE Republican recall. twitter.com/kyledcheney/st…

Years of concern trolling about leftist "cancel culture" and "political correctness" and the NYT simply lacks the tools or desire to describe what is happening

Yesterday we logged almost 200 challenges- about 150 of those resulted in immediate removals. This is a picture of all the books removed from one HS library, in one day, in one District, due to the objections of one man. This is not freedom. #FreeTheBooks

Reminds me of SF legacy media overlooking SF political activity by Right wing tech billionaires, charter school proponents, Trump and lawyers, anti affirmative-action activists, disinformation experts and antifa conspiracy theorists.

I am in Florida right now, and seeing how legacy publications are framing fascism in my home state this week is causing me to lose my mind. I’m not surprised; I’m furious. twitter.com/zunguzungu/sta…

Screenshot of writing in The Atlantic by Tom Nichols with the headline “Florida Has a Right to Destroy its Universities.” The dek reads “If Ron DeSantis wants to gut Florida’s public colleges, that’s up to Floridians.”

Please read and share. Another example of a privately held education nonprofit making decisions that favor $$$ over kids. The and have called out Florida. It’s time for all of us to start calling out the .

Thread: College Board, which has a history of blowing it, has blown it. You know about the Parkland email. You know they told kids to sit in a McDonald's parking lot during COVID to take AP. You know about millions in bonuses during COVID, when revenue dropped $400M.

Sharing this excellent idea for the taking! I hear CA is SUPPOSED to have excellent protections of student data, but know for a fact tech companies get around them by offering “free” services for educational programs. Do you have any info for SF families?

There must be a written agreement as to the sharing of data. You should ask for it & if they don’t provide, FOIA it. CA has pretty strong student privacy laws.

Let me get this straight… gave back FEMA dollars but says we need $50k in exchange for providing data on preschoolers to an man who promotes private schools. Is this correct?

Sounds like officials at the SFUSD are bought and paid for by CrankStart, deliberately abbeting the cover-up of what's really going on. Someone with the skills should research who in SFUSD and pay-to-play city SFgov (& family/friends) personally own stock in CrankStart.

With all that’s going on in Florida with trying to ban teaching a complete history and present, I want to shout out these small museums & the people who run them. They are a treasure trove of ephemera, memories, witness and racial truth telling.

The has spoken up about DeSantis’ recent statement about African American History. It’s time for Democratic leadership and Union leadership to follow suit in condemning this racial backlash movement in FL. naacp.org/articles/naacp

1. Florida teachers are being told to remove all books from their classroom libraries OR FACE FELONY PROSECUTION The new policy is based on the premise that teachers are using books to "groom" students or indoctrinate them with leftist ideologies. 🧵 popular.info/p/florida-teac

you can’t say “stop asian hate” without also ending american imperialism. so much anti-china rhetoric comes from the white house itself and that endangers asams at home

As millions come together to celebrate the Lunar New Year, we are devastated by news of yet another mass shooting in America. Our team is monitoring the situation in Monterey Park, California. We grieve for the families whose loved ones were killed and wounded in the attack.

What is happening in Florida, is a bellwether on which leaders have the courage to speak up about the racial backlash happening in our country. It’s not enough to do “Happy MLK” posts on social media. Honor his legacy with action. Why are our democratic leaders silent?

If College Board had an ounce of integrity, it would pull all AP courses out of the state of Florida. No students in Florida should be able to take any AP class if DeSantis is going to pick-and-choose courses like participating in AP is an à la carte menu. thehill.com/homenews/state
