I’m told there are simulated paint rounds, not bullets. But “this is a terrible look” as one senior defence source just said to me.

It does "look" bad especially when one considers the British Army behaviour in recent times in NI (Ballymurphy; Bloody Sunday), something the SoS has tried to block from criminal proceedings. These men need to be removed from the Army if that's their mentality and behaviour.
