Is there a word for that kind of rhetorical gimmick? Saying the thing that's slightly wrong because correcting it actually amplifies your point? I love it too.

Reminds me of an Oscar Wilde quote: “A gentleman always misquotes: it demonstrates that he is well-read, but has better things to do than memorize quotes; and it provides an opportunity for those without better things to do to correct him.”
