Okay... I fell into a Phantom of the Opera hole again and I need to know, who else has been in this hole and how has is contributed to your overall creative world? I discovered POTO as tween and immediately became a pariah when I said I preferred the Phantom to lame-ass Raoul.

Also, when I was a kid, I fucking loved Phantom of the Opera. Even read the original book by Leroux. I used to sing along with the soundtrack all the time because I was JUST SO COOL.

Before I got into game dev I was on track to be a professional opera singer and always said Meg was the dream role. I’d get to rock being my character soprano self, you get billed as a lead, spend a third of the show backstage, and get the final big moment.

I still have such a soft spot for characters like that and it spawned a narrative design habit where I choose someone in the game who is probably actually the protagonist, not the player. Thanks, Meg!
