This seems like the sort of place where you could point to a Kav effect (or nationalization or whatever) helping Rs in certain types of seats even as it hurts them in the inner rings. Circumscribes the fallout to some degree.

A lot can change in two weeks obviously (see 2016), but my expectation was that the bottom would fall out for Republicans at some point, at least in the House, and I feel like the GOP should be somewhat encouraged that it hasn’t.

No, this is my old district & I can tell you it was redrawn in 2013 to make it much more Republican. A decades-long hold by Dems ended right after that. That is part of the explanation for the change--the other is voter suppression. I saw a small part of it in my own precinct.
