She face headwinds on electability and sexism, yes. But ppl on the campaign and outside allies feel like they let the nomination slip away. One thing that came up over and over: that they made her more conventional than she is, sanded down her edges until it was too late.

Warren’s focus on Iowa and NH further contributed to her weakness w/ voters of color that never got resolved despite deliberate efforts in plans/speeches. “It just seemed we couldn’t talk to nonwhite folks,” one Warren staffer on the ground said.

one thing that didnt make the piece: some staffers felt the campaign didnt adapt their strategy once they became the front runner until it was too late. Was hard to change the habits that made them successful in the first place.
the m4a debacle was the only time she was truly unprepared in a debate. it only happened once but it doesn’t seem women in politics really get 2nd chances
all for a healthcare plan that won’t pass anyway. this could’ve all been avoided had bernie not let 2016 dissuade him from believing a woman could beat trump
