We carefully considered this in the decision making process and believe this change is the best compromise to protect our community. Small channels can still benefit from many tools/features and grow their channel.
That still doesn't make things any easier on those who wish to pursue careers in content creation, Youtube is a growing global community so there is going to be more small channels to compete with one another for the same goal, which leads to a big decrease in how many get big.
