His problem wasn’t the idea - which is sound, and an integral step in human history - it was the simplistic version of it that he spun. UBI can’t be an additional welfare program, it has to be the future of welfare, and the vehicle for transition away from the antiquated systems.

It’s unnecessary and unaffordable to take money from everyone to give to everyone. Like social security, but that will grow like gang busters. The idea that “math” was a catchphrase for him was really funny for those of us who are numerate.

Sure sure, but he appears sane and not prone to kneejerk answers. It sure would be nice to just have a slow news cycle presidency.

I disagree, I think it would have been very helpful.

Would have been a different story had it been used to get rid of most all other government welfare programs. But it seems it would have been just an add-on, which turns his idea into a libertarian-friendly idea into a progressive-friendly carrot.

That's not what I heard. I heard that it was the UBI sans other welfare payments you received, and if you didn't want the UBI, you got the amount of the UBI in tax breaks.

His entire platform pitch was that it will be needed by the time he as president implements it. Jesus christ none of yall looked into him in the slightest.
