A-IW: So, let’s talk abut that finale. It’s structured like - of all things - various Doctor Who finale two-parters. It’s built to be the worst, most impossible situation to come from. A proper cliffhanger. #tweetnotes

A-IW: The biggie here is the HUGE final moments, which some will reasonably bemoan as something awaiting an undo next movie. Sure. But this isn’t news. We know how this world functions, and it always allows deaths to be undone. So why *does* it work? #tweetnotes

A-IW: Mostly, it’s a brilliant game of ’Can you?’ Can this team credibly undo Thanos’s actions without an enormous audience eye-roll? Killing characters is easy. Bringing them back is, too. Bring them back WELL is a toughie. #tweetnotes

A-IW: When Moffat ends the entire universe for a Dr Who cliffhanger, the ‘Can you?’ game is huge. Same when Davies twice turned the whole world over to the Master. Events so huge they MUST be undone. But can it be done satisfyingly? #tweetnotes

A-IW: That’s what we have here - a challenge. A promise to live up to. Dr Strange has, with moderate subtlety, told us this is the universe where Thanos will be defeated. No points for knowing that, or that resurrections will occur. But the how is up for grabs. #tweetnotes

A-IW: There’s delight in pondering the problem. My bet? The drop of Thanos’ blood Tony drew is the key. Strange needed Tony to live to obtain that one tiny thing. And with it, and the gauntlet, we have the start of a sci-fi solution. #tweetnotes
