I love the concept of Avengers One Million BC, but all the modern day business in AVENGERS #1 feels a bit basic, and – uncharacteristically – I'm not convinced Aaron has all their voices down yet.pic.twitter.com/ghTH9HZqel

(Also, not sure about the thrust of this issue being 'finally, the Avengers are back together' given NO SURRENDER only wrapped up *last week*. This team has no crossover with the leads of that series, but it does sap the final page of some energy.)
CODA #1 is about the hangover after a high fantasy world has all the magic sucked out. I could have done with more sense of before/after contrast – Matias Bergara's (gorgeous) art is plenty fantastical – but I'm already hooked on the story of its lead character, Hum.pic.twitter.com/jVZVwqEW7u
Onto the title I was most excited about this week: the choose-your-own-adventure YOU ARE DEADPOOL #1. It's an absolute riot, packed with jokes, that also functions remarkably well as a game.pic.twitter.com/4Jizy67SWI
(Pulling back the curtain a little – I read/played this in the review PDF. Intrigued to see how Comixology handles it, as this feels like a book designed for physical print.)pic.twitter.com/ZawwhkDzGb
DC NATION is going to be DC's in-house magazine. The #0 issue isn't that – it's a collection of teaser trailers. But it's a freebie, and they're good trailers.pic.twitter.com/0jNWlYkQtC
NIGHTWING #44 introduces the new creative team of Percy & Mooneyham, as well as Grumpy Old Man Dick Grayson, as he encounters his greatest foe yet... people's addiction to their phones. The social critique is a bit pat, and I wish the book looked more like that stunning cover. :(pic.twitter.com/ZefnuPxcWL
DEATH OR GLORY is a hard comic to pin down from its first issue. It lays out the main players, a handful of conflicts... but I'm not sure what kind of book this is, what makes it special. So there's just not enough there to drag me back to its world of unpleasant people.pic.twitter.com/vBIoOYuEqq
Annnd that's everything that caught my eye this week. Let me know if you end up checking any of it out, and what you thought.
honestly, I’d be happy if everyone did it and everyone called it Wednesday Reads.
I may take that for a spin next week, cheers.
