Major point of disagreement: #13 (The Palate Cleanser). The example games @kirkhamilton uses are basically my primary subsistence. Which makes me realise I don't really have any Mainstays. Am I a fussy eater... gamer?
I def could've mentioned the not-unusual thing where people primarily play "palate cleanser" games, which makes them stop being palate cleansers and start being like... main courses at a tapas place? And yeah not having a Mainstay isn't unusual either
It's a really interesting way of thinking about game taxonomies, and I like that you can kind of work backwards from it to what kind of game player you are. (I am, as always, The Flitting Dilettante.)
