If, hypothetically, you were setting up a new blog in the year 2017, what service would you use? Wordpress? Tumblr? Blogger? Livejournal? Usenet newsgroup?

Tumblr has more discovery built in than a standalone site running on WP. Re-blogs or likes can bring your content to users who are not following, for example. Running a self-hosted blog means you’re a bit more active in getting your content in front of people.
Yeah, this reflects my experience with the blogs I've run to date. Tumblr is much more stumblable.
