I don't think all of its analysis is on point (like reading the death of characters as a punishment), but undeniably strong stuff.

I think some of it is actually the stuff that I like about Whedon's work: the rejection of the 'awkward outsider' archetype as a pure good.

I was just typing something similar. The feminism isn't Buffy's strongest suit – which doesn't make it bad, but that's the bit that stuck.
