As if to prove this, I just picked one of the chillis I've been drying for two weeks out of the curry I'm cooking, and ate it whole. And now I can't see.
Yesterday I touched some chilli oil and then licked my fingers. When @LamyGarbage asked what happened I said "I touched the thing and the best way to clean to my fingers is with my mouth"
