This series was kind of super important to me as a baby critic, because it showed you didn't need to blag some immaculate knowledge of a subject to write about it in a compelling way. It felt a bit like permission, and helped me drop the pretence.
For real. I once tried to express this to JAM in person, but it was outside a ThoBubs party and I was drunk and I think it came off as 'I'm so glad you're as stupid as I am!' (And cheers! Honestly, I'd love to resuscitate it, but that would require at least one work-clone. TIME!)
