"You" can be great fun when it goes full ludicrous – a kidnapper doing an artisanal soda tasting with their captive – but when that stuff isn't happening, I struggle to buy in because EVERYONE IS (intentionally) THE WORST. #Youpdate
(Except for Ethan, who is a bit underwritten but has a sweet charm that I think is mostly down to the actor, and Blythe, who is terrible and pretentious but in a fun way. Part of me wants to follow them closer, part of me wants them as far from the main plot as possible.)

In the back half (that we've seen so far), the show takes a jump into sincerity and even emotional realism, and it's even reasonably good at it – but for it to work, you have to ignore everything that's happened so far.
