I think (as someone who eats more than my share of flesh) there can be a certain defensiveness from meat eaters. Makes me think of Eleanor Shellstrop when she's confronted with someone else doing good.

Maybe that's it. I feel like sometimes meat eaters bombard veggies/vegans with questions like it's insane to not want to eat meat? I personally couldnt care less what people eat/don't eat
