    Err I was referring to the young boy and HIS reaction in solidarity with his ‘sisters’… it shows a radical change of approach and bravery from the new generation…. No surprise re Taliban move as we’ve been reporting for months!!

    Why is it ‘incredible’ ? It was ‘obvious’ plain as the nose on your face the Taliban hadn’t changed. If they are called the Taliban they are the Taliban. Do Christians change their ideals and beliefs in order to attain government? Shame on the media for promoting that lie! 🕊❤️🇦🇫

    The Taliban have prohibited girls from secondary school in Afghanistan. In solidarity, many boys have been refusing to go to school themselves. “We don’t go to school without our sisters”, reads this sign.

    Saturday morning in Kabul: from today, Afghan boys from grade 7 are allowed to return to school. Girls are not. By not permitting girls to return to school, the Taliban have de facto banned girls’ secondary education for the 1st time since their regime in the 90s

    Some personal news: after 25 years on the road in Asia, Africa, the Mid East & USA, I’m off to the UK next year to be the BBC’s new Foreign Editor. It’s one of the best jobs in international news, working with a top team of BBC journalists at home & abroad. So, I’m chuffed!🙂
