    Relying too much on a single datapoint is a mistake. But the NC testing is incredible. It doesn’t say 17% of people are infected. It says they were - AND RECOVERED. MOSTLY IN THE LAST MONTH. Which strongly suggests the Italian doctors who say the virus has weakened are right...

        It’s likely a combination of things but viruses in general do tend to mutate less severe over time ....it’s natural selection. If a virus kills its host it can’t find a new host as easily.

        Don't we have data showing death rate for different age groups over time? We would see if it is in fact weakening from such data.

        this is a case where more is a good thing they likely did not expect this or understand how it could be getting weaker. if so imagine if it is easily spread but rarely if ever kills anyone. That is what the common cold is. and guess what that virus family also causes the cold
