Okay as I've mentioned: responding to a tweet about a TV show you've never seen makes you look kind of foolish. This isn't a tent city. It's a fascist ghetto and the people there are being held against their will.

Roddenberry never worked on DS9, and I’m not confident that he would have liked it, but it’s still great nonetheless, and the writers and directors who did work on it are no less visionary or talented

Doubt it. We’ve had fascism before without the tech. That said, the resolution of the episode is that the residents of the sanctuary district ostensibly use YouTube to generate sympathy for their situation
