Reading the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy entry and coming at it from a simulationist perspective, this is just theology with man in place of God. It seems like there are relevant theodicies that might apply in that context.
Well I mean, normally theistic philosophy begins with the assumption that God is beyond human morality. But this problem takes a God's eye view of things because it frames the act of creation as a human act. And it can be maximized to apply to any conceivable act of creation.
