Somehow pride and humility approach the same thing when they recommend the same conduct. Self-abasement is not always humility, but is often pride. Perhaps conversely, self-aggrandizement is not always pride, but is sometimes humility.
Namely, when the self becomes somehow reified, externalized, and overwhelming; when it becomes a burden that in its very weight destroys all other false consciousness. Maybe self-aggrandizement like that is in some way concordant with humility.
