Technocracy supposes technological solutions to every problem. But without non-technocrats to identify those problems, all that happens is runaway escalation of technology for its own sake. Who would make an art of refining the production of art supplies that will never be used?
Just as every update to a piece of code threatens to destroy patchwork solutions to problems that existed before, causing a step backward, the iterative "solution" of every tiny difficulty in human life destroys often superior workarounds.
