Has there ever been a truth seeking process anywhere on earth? (As in, converges on truth at infinity, not as in tries real hard). If not, what have the processes we've lived with this whole time been doing? Can we recover? Or is the matter intractable?

Technically the set of all comprehensible (finite) propositions is countable, so as long as humanity won’t weirdly get stuck in a loop (dystopian eschaton) we should surely but possibly extremely slowly find one of those one by one.

This makes me think that there might be a class of algorithms (Universal Philosopher) that provably can find a class of “interesting” truths within finite time, and preferably doing so optimally fast (averaging on different truths). Human thoughts essentially might belong here.
