If someone can destroy the upper class, the upper class is not well constituted.

It sometimes has. Usually small group of persons with legitimate grievances weaponizing the resentment of inferior people without legitimate grievances. It can be hard to tell. Taking "the default human condition is poverty and misery" seriously renders such conclusions obvious.
