Suddenly realizing that Marxism serves the same basic purpose as the Bible used to: not in the sense that "both are religions" or anything but in the sense that both are playgrounds for verbal and social intelligence where smart people can show off pointlessly or predatorily.

It has been said before that Marxism is Christian ideas and values divorced from Christianity. I thought it was Nietzsche but I looked it up and it was probably not him.
