Dr. Peterson, why do you continue to ignore my requests to debate you? I have been very congenial, yet you continue to espouse anti dragon propaganda without giving voice to the other side.

@Alephwyr I am very interested to know the topic you would like to debate@jordanbpeterson on.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

He could pick. There are plenty of valid topics: transgenderism, psychoanalysis, the importance of heirarchy, the wisdom of traditional or modern religion. I would need to brush up regardless, I have been out of academia for some time.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the importance of hierarchy. I have thought a fair amount about that.

Heirarchy serves historical functions humanity has partially surpassed, and then only noisily as a result of evolution. Reduced, more calculated heirarchies would in principle be better. Markets are good at calculation, so they incentivize better hierarchies, but more is needed.

Wouldn't you say that hierarchy's form naturally anytime you put human beings in the same place? There are those who lead. Those who manage and those who follow or at least work for the leader.

They tend to form, but I wouldn't say that's sufficient to justify them normatively, especially when counterexamples exist

What do you do about them when they form? And who does it? You may not be able to justify them, but you can't control them if without oppressive law. Then you pass a law, and leaders still rise to the top and they form anyway.

If you setup an incentive system to form less hierarchies, the leaders still rise to the top and they form.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying don't set up incentive structures by force, and accept what happens in the absence of force.
