It used to be that when you voted Republican, you never got the good stuff they promised, but you at least got the bad stuff they promised. With the near-instant collapse of the Afghan puppet government, it's clear that even the bad stuff doesn't stick either.
Neoconservative imperialism is fundamentally cosmopolitan in disposition and in that respect shares much in common with modern liberalism. It's not surprising everything united along this axis would be ineffectual.
